National
Faculty Leadership Conference
"Called
to Make a Difference" is the theme of a national conference for Christian
faculty. The National Faculty Leadership Conference (NFLC) will be held
in Washington, D.C., June 24-27. The conference, sponsored by Christian
Leadership Ministries, will bring together faculty from around the country
and the world to collaborate, network, receive encouragement and be equipped
on matters of faith in the academy. A call for papers has been issued
in 14 academic tracks. Dallas Willard will be among the keynote speakers.

University
Team Travels to Poland
A
team from the Georgia Institute of Technology which included
four professors and a staff member traveled to Poland to
speak in universities there and help the Christian faculty
in that country develop and expand their ministries on campus.
The group, which also included CLM staff members and others,
gave 49 talks in 10 universities to more than 1,500 students
and faculty in just seven days. They lectured on their areas
of expertise but also shared their personal testimonies and
met with Christian faculty members to help equip them for
ministry.
From
Coffee to Faith in Christ
"What was the highlight of your year?" CLM staff member Cheryl Lee
asked Don, a professor of biology at a major West coast university. Don has experienced
some tough trials in his life, and Cheryl and husband Randy pray often for Don
as he seeks to apply his faith in his work.
Don
thought for a moment, but then his eyes lit up as he said his highlight
was helping a graduate student come to faith in the Lord.
"It took a lot
of cups of coffee together, discussions and the Conversations CD.” Don
related. “Perhaps his greatest difficulty was in understanding
how a scientist could be a Christian.
“ I gave him
a Conversations CD and asked him to explore the science track.
I believe his dilemma about science and Christianity was closest to
resolution after he viewed this helpful material," Don said. “He
has since given his life to Christ.”
