Call for Papers

Conference on Student and Faculty Mentoring from a Christian Perspective at the Secular University

September 24, 2005  University of Minnesota

The purpose of the conference is to further the understanding and practice of mentoring, especially as it relates to the development of Christian scholars in the academy.

Speakers include Kenneth Elzinga (University of Virginia), Doug Lauffenburger (MIT), Carol Simon (Hope College), and Harold Heie (Gordon College).  

Papers should be 4,000 to 6,000 words and focus on the theory of mentoring utilizing pedagogical, psychological, sociological, or other disciplinary insights, on the practice of mentoring from a practical how-to perspective (including case studies), or on available resources for mentoring. Papers must demonstrate integration of Christian thought (including biblical and theological resources) and should give attention to the mentoring task of Christian faculty within the context of secular colleges and universities.

The preferred method of submitting a paper is via e-mail. Manuscripts should be submitted single-spaced in an e-mail attachment in Word for Windows or Word Perfect. If you prefer to send your manuscript by mail, please include the file on disc with the hard copy of your manuscript.
